Series Overview

“The Machine” takes an inside look at what makes Long Beach Poly America’s most effective high school at pumping out star college and NFL athletes. A public school that competes against million dollar private school football programs, Poly has struggled to continue the dominance that once defined Jackrabbit football. Led by Super Bowl champion head coach Antonio Pierce and a coaching staff of former NFL stars like Lavar Arrington, and TJ Houshmandzadeh, the 2017 Jackrabbits are faced with the task of living up to a century-long legacy of excellence, and bringing Poly back to its former greatness.  
A real-life “Friday Night Lights” set against the urban backdrop of Long Beach, California. 
The series explores the personal lives of the players and follows the team through the ups and downs of a 10 game football season.
